How do I do path animation and where should I use it?
First things first, What is
Path Animation?
Path Animation is the process of animating
an object (or objects) along a curve and controlling its position and rotation.
This curve is called a Motion Path.
How do I do path animation?
· Before you start make sure that you change your Menu from Modelling to Animation.
· Start by
creating a curve with the curve tool
or identify an already existing path and attach your object on it by using the Snap to Curves tool.
· Choose your
objects starting location, select your first frame on the animation bar and use
the keyboard shortcut ‘S’ to set
your frame.
· Continue moving your object through the scene,
repeating the same process to set your key frames.
· When you are done setting your frames your Animation
Bar should look something like this

Where should I use path animation?
Path animation can be used in any
situation where you need to make an object move in a scene. This object can be
anything, from a car, a robot or just a plain polygon. Another way you can also
use Path Animation is attach a camera
on a curve (to record your scene) and use the path to move the camera smoothly
around the objects thus resulting to a better recording of the scene.
