Final Model Evaluation and Animation
I had some problems with the original model from the beginning. Faces would overlap with each other and sometimes I found vertexes in places that I didn't want them and things only got worse when I started rigging. So I decided to completely delete my original model and start again, and I'm glad I did. This model not only took me half the time the first one did but I also had almost no problems with topology.
Of course that doesn't mean I didn't have problems. One of them actually was the unfortunate event of Maya 2017 crushing repeatedly and eventually I continued and finished my model in Maya 2018. The fact that I'm not so well acquainted with this software yet was also an issue as there were times that I got stuck at easily solvable problems.
Other problems I encountered were things like the rigging breaking and deforming the model, the textures not following the rig, as well as some lighting and rendering problems for the animation which I eventually fixed in After Effects.
Overall though, in my opinion the model turned out good despite all the struggles (considering my 3-month experience of the software) and I certainly learned a lot of things from it.
This is the video of the Final Animation.
